VICTORVILLE – An Apple Valley man and a Victorville woman were arrested for the possession of over $60,000 worth of stolen vehicles on Wednesday.
The crime spree began on Friday, October 14, 2016, when Hesperia station deputies responded to the report of a burglary. The suspect, who was unknown at the time, entered the home and stole property, including a Dodge truck. Two days later, on Sunday Apple Valley station deputies took a report of stolen vehicles, which included an enclosed trailer carrying 3 ATV’s officials said. A few days later on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, just after 5:10 a.m. the Apple Valley victim and a friend happen to be driving in the Mountain View area of Victorville and witnessed a male subject loading the stolen trailer in a yard. They called dispatch to report their discovery.
Deputies from both the Victorville and Victor Valley Station responded to the home and detained 32-year-old Apple Valley resident, Devon Merite Bryant, and 33-year-old Victorville resident, Fania Hagan who were in possession of the stolen vehicles. The Dodge truck, trailer, and all three ATV’s worth approximately $61,000 were located. Bryant was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center and was released on his own recognizance to appear for a later court date. Hagan was transported to a local hospital for a medical issue and was not arrested.
