LAKE ARROWHEAD – A 76-year-old Lake Arrowhead man is missing and his family is desperately seeking help to find him. Herschel Hughes, according to his family is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s and they believe he may be lost.
He was last seen on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at 8:00 a.m. The family has not been able to contact him since. Mr. Hughes left his Lake Arrowhead home in a 2014 Red Nissan Pathfinder with California license plate number 7JHR995.
His son-in-law, Kris Norlander said that he does not have the key fob with him and if he turned off the vehicle he would be stranded. He also only had around ½ gallon of gas left when he left his home.
His family has checked hospitals and have reported him missing to the police but so far there are no strong leads as to where he might be. As time goes on the concern for his well-being increases.
His family said that Mr. Hughes, who is a former art professor at La Sierra University has a home near there also. He also had an Acupuncture office in downtown Riverside, so he is familiar with the Riverside area. “He has been retired for nearly 20 years and stays home now,” said Kris Norlander. “This is totally out of character for him.”
