RIALTO, Calif. – A 39-year-old Fontana man was struck by a vehicle and killed after attempting to cross the 210 freeway, CHP officials said.
On Saturday, August 3, 2019, at around 9:25 p.m. the male pedestrian was walking across the lanes of the 210 east, west of Riverside Avenue. A 54-year-old Upland man was driving a 2014 Toyota Tundra traveling on the SR-210 east, west of Riverside Avenue at an unknown speed. As the driver continued, the front of the Toyota struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending identification and notification of next of kin by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office.
This collision is still under investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Officer J. Richard at the San Bernardino CHP Area office at (909) 383-4247.
