FONTANA – An alleged sexual predator was arrested on Thursday morning Fontana Police officials said.
A joint investigation by the Fontana Unified School District Police, Detectives from the Fontana Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force revealed the 20-year-old Benny Kim was communicating with a 14-year-old girl. Authorities said that the two communicated over social media sites, through text messages, and phone calls.
In addition to the communication, Kim sent inappropriate sexual images of himself to the minor and requested she did the same of her completing various sexual acts. Authorities said that the girl was sexually assaulted.
Kim was taken into custody while visiting the City of Fontana and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for sex with a foreign object with a victim under 18, sodomy with a person under 18, oral copulation with a person under 18, and sex with a minor 3 or more years younger. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Rancho Cucamonga Superior Court on Monday.
