HEMET, Calif. – A burglary in a home occupied by a Hemet family led to the shooting death of the suspect on Wednesday.
Authorities said that on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, just after 12:00 a.m., deputies responded to a burglary in progress in the 26000 block of Plymouth Street in Hemet. Deputies learned that the suspect broke into the home and the armed homeowner confronted the suspect. The homeowner shot the suspect, who died as a result of the shooting. No other suspects are outstanding and all of the residents are uninjured.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene to assume the investigation. The deceased suspect’s name is not being released due to the ongoing investigation.
