MUSCOY – A San Bernardino man was arrested after leading police on a pursuit at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. An attempted traffic stop near Kern and Macy Streets turned into a pursuit when the Honda Accord failed to stop. During the high-speed pursuit through the streets of Muscoy, deputies witnessed the driver, throw a gun out of the window.
The pursuit abruptly ended when the suspect, later identified as Ramiro Fierros, 28 drove into an empty field and the vehicle caught fire. The handgun was later found in front of a home in the area the deputy witnessed Fierros throwing it out of the window. The deputy determined that Fierros was on felony probation for a vehicle theft.
Fierros was uninjured and was booked into the West Valley Detention center for felony evading and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 and is scheduled to appear at the San Bernardino Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon.
