HIGHLAND – A 33-year-old Highland area transient was arrested after a victim he sexually assaulted spotted him while driving in the area. The sexual assault occurred on Thursday, January 26, 2017, while the victim was walking home. The same woman spotted a man, on Tuesday, February 17, 2017, who she believed was the suspect and contacted authorities.
The suspect, later identified as Berry Luque was detained and positively identified. He was wearing similar clothing on the day of the sexual assault. Luque was also identified as the suspect in a Christmas day home invasion in the same area. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear at the San Bernardino Superior Court on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.
