Suspect Arrested For the Murder of Mentone Woman Saturday

MENTONE – A 32-year-old transient was arrested for the murder of a Mentone woman on Saturday. At around 6:10 p.m. deputies from the Yucaipa station responded to a home in the 30900 block of Moss Street in Mentone for the request of a welfare check.

When they arrived they located a deceased female inside the garage of the home. Given the discovery, Homicide Investigators were called to the scene to conduct an investigation. The investigation determined that the suspect in the murder was Christopher Fisher, who was believed to be in possession of the victim’s 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse.

The vehicle was located less than a block away from the incident location in the 31000 block of Nice Avenue. Deputies and detectives responded to the area that the vehicle was in and saw Fisher getting into the vehicle. Deputies attempted to conduct a felony traffic stop but the vehicle continued on causing a pursuit through Mentone, Yucaipa, onto the 10 freeway, onto the 215 freeway, and finally ending when Fisher crashed into a curb on Chicago and 3rd Street in the City of Riverside. Fisher got out of the vehicle and attempted to flee but was taken into custody without further incident.

Fisher was interviewed by detectives, at the conclusion of his interview he was arrested and transported to the Central Detention Center for murder. The investigation is ongoing and there is no other information available for release.
