HIGHLAND – A 55-year-old man was struck by a vehicle near Alabama Street and 3rd Avenue on Friday. At around 12:20 a.m. the male pedestrian, whose identity has not been disclosed was walking northbound on a poorly lit area of the street meant only for vehicle traffic.
The driver was also traveling northbound and did not see the victim until it was too late. The vehicle struck the victim. The driver quickly pulled over and administered CPR and called 911. The pedestrian was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing, anyone with information regarding this collision is urged to call Deputy D. Rusk or Deputy A. Ortega at 909-477-2800.
