VICTORVILLE – The body of a deceased man discovered floating in the Aqueduct near CA-395 and Eucalyptus last week has been identified as 19-year-old Erich Pearce of Wrightwood.
On Thursday, June 8, 2017, a man fishing in the aqueduct noticed what he believed was a body floating in the aqueduct. He quickly called 911 to report his finding as he followed the body flowing through the aqueduct. When San Bernardino County Firefighters and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene they determined that his discovery was, in fact, the body of a deceased male.
The body of the Pearce was removed from the water by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Dive Team between the area of LA Bureau of Power and Light Rd. and US Hwy 395. The cause of Pearce’s death remains under investigation at this time. Pearce worked as a Ski Lift Operator at Mountain High and according to his Facebook profile, he recently started the enlistment process to join the United State Airforce.
