HESPERIA – A motorhome and 5th wheel trailer were destroyed after a fire late Saturday morning. At around 11:40 a.m. dispatchers received multiple reports of fire to the rear of a home in the 10000 block of Third Avenue in the City of Hesperia. When firefighters arrived approximately 5 minutes later they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the back of the home.
The firefighters quickly gained access to the backyard of the home to find the 5th wheel and motorhome both fully involved. The San Bernardino County Fire spokesman Jeremy Kern said that with the initial priority being to protect any potential exposures, including the home or nearby vegetation, they deployed multiple hose lines.
Firefighters gained control of the fire within approximately 15 minutes. Although both the trailer and motorhome were a complete loss, no damage was sustained to the home. A total of 16 San Bernardino County Firefighters responded to the fire. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
