Christopher Brandon Lee Sentenced to Life in Prison for Murder of Erin Corwin

SAN BERNARDINO – Convicted murderer Christopher Brandon Lee was sentenced to Life Without the possibility of Parole for the murder of marine wife, Erin Corwin on Tuesday.

Lee and Corwin were both married and were involved in an extramarital affair. Corwin told family and friends that she was expecting a child. Corwin left her home on Saturday, June 28, 2013, telling her husband, US Marine Corporal Jonathan Corwin that she was going to look for places to visit during her mother’s upcoming visit and would be home by 4:00 p.m. that evening. Witness statements to authorities indicated that Erin was planning to go with Lee to Joshua Tree National Park to celebrate her pregnancy.

Jonathan reported Erin missing the following morning when she did not return home and told authorities that she was approximately two months pregnant.  Erin’s vehicle was located on Monday, June 29, 2013, near the military base miles from her Joshua Tree National Park celebration destination. Lee left to Anchorage, Alaska with his family soon after Erin went missing raising suspicions for some.

Seven weeks later, on Sunday, August 16, 2013, the Cave Rescue Team located the body of Erin Corwin in a 125-foot vertical mine shaft near Palm Springs. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department issued an extraditable arrest warrant for Lee and on Sunday, August 17, 2013, Lee was arrested by Anchorage Police. He was taken to an Anchorage jail to await extradition back to San Bernardino County.

On Tuesday, November 1, 2016, Lee admitted to murdering Erin and on Thursday, November 3, 2016, he was convicted. On Tuesday, November 29th Lee was sentenced to Life Without the Possibility of Parole.
