PALMDALE, Calif. – A woman was kidnapped while waiting for her boyfriend to meet her near Courson Park.
The boyfriend arrived at the park to find his girlfriend in the backseat of a vehicle with the two suspects in the front seat. He told his girlfriend to get out of the vehicle, but the suspects told him that she would not be getting out of the vehicle. The suspects locked the doors and drove away. The victim’s boyfriend followed but they eventually got away.
He then saw a patrol vehicle and flagged down a deputy in the 38000 block of 10th Street East. He told them that his girlfriend had been kidnapped. The boyfriend received a text message from his girlfriend as he talked to the deputies, the text message said that she was scared and was being held against her will. She also said that the suspects refused to let her go and he needed to call the police.
A Sheriff’s helicopter responded to the scene and at around 11:30 p.m. they located the vehicle driving southbound on the 14 freeway in Santa Clarita. CHP units were directed toward the suspect vehicle. When CHP officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver did not stop. The suspects were pursued into the City of Irvine when the suspect vehicle stopped on the 405 freeway near Culver Street. The suspects were taken into custody at 12:45 a.m. The victim was inside the vehicle unharmed.
Both suspect were transported to Palmdale Station where they were booked for kidnapping and the driver also for reckless evading.
