
SAN BERNARDINO, Ca. – A San Bernardino man who is serving time at the Central Detention Center is facing new charges for contacting a juvenile for sex.
Michael Starkwrather, 36, was interviewed on February 11, 2021, by detectives about contacting a juvenile victim several times. Through contact with the teen he expressed his intent to commit sexual acts with her upon release.
Through investigation, it was learned that Starkweather had contacted the juvenile dozens of times in both, recorded jail calls and through letters. Following the interview with deputies, was supplementally booked for Unlawful communication with a minor, with the intent to commit sexual acts.
