SAN BERNARDINO – A 42-year-old Colton woman was killed and several others were injured when the driver of a Ford Mustang ran a red light slamming into a Nissan Armada Saturday morning.
Just after 6:40 a.m. San Bernardino police and emergency medical personnel responded to a collision at the intersection of Mill Street and Mt. Vernon Avenue.
Police said that after the mustang broadsided the Armada the force sent the Armada into a utility pole. As the Mustang attempted to flee the scene the vehicle struck a gray Nissan Maxima head-on.
Maria Flores Guerrero was extricated from her vehicle and was subsequently transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where she died as a result of her injuries. The extent of the other injuries are undisclosed at this time, but authorities confirm that none are believed to be life-threatening.
DUI is suspected to be the cause of the collision but the investigation is ongoing.
