VICTORVILLE, Ca. – A San Bernardino man who was attempting to flee from Victorville Police in a stolen vehicle crashed causing him to be ejected from the vehicle on Tuesday night.
At 9:18 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station noticed a vehicle that was stopped in the middle of a residential street with lights off. As the deputy approached the suspect, he sped away and ran a stop sign. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle at Bear Valley and Topaz, but the driver failed to stop. The driver, later identified as Robert Jordan Silvas, 30, of San Bernardino, was determined to be driving a vehicle recently stolen from a Victorville home.
Silvas continued driving erratically onto the 15 freeway. He lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn. Silvas was tossed from the vehicle as it overturned and was subsequently airlifted to a trauma center for treatment of undisclosed injuries. The female passenger in the vehicle with Silvas was not injured
Silvas was previously convicted of Carjacking in September 2016 and other drug offenses. Silvas is facing charges for evading a Peace Officer, vehicle theft, and possession of a stolen vehicle. Silvas was previously convicted of Carjacking in September 2016 and other drug-related offenses in 2014.
