Santa Ana Business Owner Arrested for Sex Act with a Teen Boy
SANTA ANA, Calif.– A 59-year-old Santa Ana man was arrested for having sex with a 15-year-old boy.
Santa Ana Police said that Michael Komoto met the boy on the dating app., “Grindr”. Komoto picked up the victim near his home on Sunday, April 14, 2019. He told the victim he would take him shopping in exchange for the victim “making out” with him, police said. He drove the victim to his business in the 1300 block of East Edinger Avenue in Santa Ana and engaged in sex acts with the boy.
As promised, Komoto took the boy shopping at the South Coast Plaza. As the two shopped, the victim sent a text messaged his friend telling him that he was scared of the suspect. The friend picked the boy up and reported the incident to the police. On Thursday, April 18, 2019, Komoto was arrested at his place of business and was booked into jail for engaging in sex acts with a minor. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Santa Ana Police Department Detectives believe there may be additional victims and ask anyone with information to contact Detective Julio Gallardo at 714-245-8378, jgallardo@santa-ana.org or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS. The Santa Ana Police Department would like to remind parents to closely monitor their child’s social media activity for any inappropriate content.
