ANAHEIM, Calif. – Not very much has been released about an officer-involved shooting in Anaheim that left a 17-year-old Anaheim female dead.
On Friday, July 5, 2019, at around 7:15 p.m., a Fullerton Police officer was involved in an Officer-Involved shooting on the eastbound 91 freeway just east of Kramer Boulevard. The female suspect was struck by gunfire and was transported to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The name of the teen has not been released. No officers were injured as a result of the shooting.
Being that the shooting was in the Anaheim area, Anaheim Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting. The Santa Ana area CHP is assisting and a full closure of the eastbound SR91 at the 57 was necessary for the investigation. Eastbound 91 traffic was diverted to the 57 freeway.
It is still unknown what led to the shooting, but investigators said that an item “appearing to be” a handgun was located at the shooting scene.
