PALM SPRINGS, Ca.– Authorities in Palm Springs are asking for any information that could lead them to a person who drew a swastika on the sign in front of a business owned by a jewish owner.
On Saturday, October 19, 2019, at around 11:53 a.m., Palm Springs police responded to 1021 S. Palm Canyon Drive for the report of the swastika found painted on the sign. When officers arrived the located the symbol, which was drawn in crayon. Officers have investigated the incident but have been unable to locate evidence to help lead them to the suspect(s). In addition, no surveillance footage has been located that has helped in the investigation.
There were no threats of violence associated with the symbol and the investigation is ongoing. The incident is being investigated as a hate crime, police officials said. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Palm Springs Police Department at 760-327-1441.
