SAN BERNARDINO – A mother’s love is unconditional, this can not be truer for Victorville resident, Lisa Watson who is concerned about her missing son.
Watson said that her son, 23-year-old Daveon Sermons suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and tends to have unpredictable behavior when he is not properly medicated. Sermons, according to his mother, was not taking medications since Thursday, September 29th. Sermons was arrested on Friday, October 7th and was released later the same day.
“He definitely was not in the right state of mind,” said Watson. “ I took him to the hospital so they could check him and maybe adjust his medication. He did not want to stay, he got angry, grabbed my keys, and took my car.” Soon after taking the car, he crashed it and he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence at 2:43 a.m. No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported as a result of the crash. Sermons was booked into the Central Detention Center located at 630 East Rialto Ave in the City of San Bernardino.
Just hours later, at approximately 1:34 pm Sermons was released in the unfamiliar San Bernardino area. “We just moved to Victorville in August, so he doesn’t know how to get home,” said Watson. “He has no friends and knows nothing about SB county. He doesn’t know my phone number or any relatives number and he is just lost.”
Watson is concerned that her son is out on the streets without food, water, and possibly even sleep. She said that he is always with family and not used to being alone.
Sermons is 6’ tall, weighs approximately 215-225 pounds. He has dark brown eyes and dark brown hair with some grey throughout. He was last seen wearing white basketball shorts, a black shirt, and black shoes. He also has the following tattoos; “Rose” on his right forearm, “Bear Claw” on both calves”Hate Love on his right ankle and “High Life” on his neckline.
He may appear confused due to not being on his medication for the extended period of time. If you have any information about the whereabouts of Daveon Sermons you are asked to call Lisa Waston at (562)282-7018.
