SAN BERNARDINO – A female victim in her early 20’s was found dead in the driver’s seat of a vehicle near Date Street and North Fairfax Drive Wednesday night.
At around 8:23 p.m. witnesses heard 3 gunshots before the vehicle went out of control ultimately crashing into a fence. Police arrived just minutes after to find the victim suffered a gunshot wound to her head. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
No suspect description was given but witnesses told police that they believed that the shooting came from near the Elementary School near the crash. During the investigation, shell casings were located in front of a small apartment complex located on the 1400 block of East Date Street.
It is unclear if any arrests have been made, information will be updated as it is received.
