FONTANA – A Wednesday night shooting claimed the life of a 22-year-old Fontana man and the suspect remains at large. At around 8:20 p.m. dispatchers received numerous 911 calls reporting a shooting. When they arrived, they found Chester Lee Scott on the ground in the intersection of Pine Avenue and Pine Court, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Kaiser Hospital and pronounced dead just after 9:00 p.m.
Homicide Detectives arrived at the scene to assume the investigation. Through investigation, detectives learned that Scott was involved in a conversation with the suspect(s) in a separate vehicle at the intersection. Moments into the conversation shots were fired at Scott’s vehicle, several which struck him. The suspect vehicle fled westbound on Pine Avenue.
