ADELANTO – An 18-year-old Adelanto is behind bars for pimping and attempting to pimp teenage girls.
On Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at around 4:00 a.m. a 15-year-old female victim called authorities to report that she was the victim of Human Trafficking. She told authorities that after refusing to prostitute at a Pilot Truck Stop, located on US 395 near the 15 freeway the suspect who she identified only as “Nikko” left her at the truck stop. The victim was able to describe the suspect.
The 15-year-old victim, who was learned to be a runaway told deputies that there was a second victim, a 14-year-old female complied with the suspect’s demands to prostitute herself at the truck stop and left with the suspect. The 14-year-old victim was also later learned to be a runaway from San Bernardino County. The first victim assisted investigators from the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force while they assumed the investigation.
The investigation led to the suspect being identified as Nikolas Caver, who was on felony probation for a burglary in January 2018. Along with Probation officers, investigators made contact with Nikolas Caver at his home in the 10800 block of Euclid Street in the City of Adelanto. After arriving at the home, investigators witnessed someone fitting the description of Caver and the victim leaving the area in a dark-colored SUV. A traffic stop was conducted and both subjects were detained and transported to the Adelanto Sheriff’s Station for an interview.
Investigators were able to substantiate the claims that Caver was pimping and pandering the teens. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Pimping, Pandering and Human Trafficking of Minors, with bail set at $150,000. He was also booked for the probation violation and is being held without bail. The teen victims were offered assistance and booked into the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center for warrants related to their runaway status.
This investigation is ongoing. Investigators believe there are other unidentified victims related to this case and are asking that anyone with information related to this investigation, please contact the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force at (909)387-8400.
