APPLE VALLEY, Ca. – An Apple Valley man was arrested for sexual battery and violation of his parole, authorities said.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at around 4:20 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the Jess Ranch Marketplace in the 19000 block of Bear Valley Road in the Town of Apple Valley for the report of sexual battery. When they arrived the female victim said that she was shopping when the suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks. Shocked, the woman turned around and saw the suspect flee from the location. The female victim was able to obtain the description of the suspect and the vehicle license plate number.
When the deputy arrived he saw a vehicle matching the description in the parking lot. He made contact with the driver, Umar Love, a 39-year-old Apple Valley resident and took him into custody. Love was booked into jail for Sexual battery and for violating the terms of his parole. Love was convicted of Rape by Force and Lewd or Lascivious Acts with a Child 14 or 15-years-old in 2014. According to court records, Love was previously convicted of Lewd of Lascivious Acts with a Child 14 or 15-years-old and Rape by Force in 2014.
Love’s booking photo is being released as investigators believe there may be additional victims.
