Hemet Police Investigating Fatal Shooting

Father & Two Children Dead After Hemet Fire, Third Child in Grave Condition

HEMET, Ca. – Authorities are asking for the public’s help with any information that may help lead them to a murder suspect.

On December 28, 2018, at around 9:57 p.m. police received a shots fired report in the 100 block of N. Tahquitz Avenue. Officers responded to the scene, while en route another call of an injured male was received. The caller reported that the injured man was taken to the hospital. Juan Ernesto Romero died at the hospital.

Luis Eduardo Reyes, 27, of San Jacinto was identified as the suspect involved in the shooting. Several who helped Reyes after the murder have been identified and arrested. Authorities have reason to believe the Reyes fled to Mexico. The case was submitted to the Riverside County District Attorney’s office.

A warrant for Murder has been issued for Luis Reyes. The Hemet Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Luis Reyes.
