A Yucaipa woman was arrested after authorities released surveillance footage of her stealing a package worth over $2000 off of a front porch.
In recent month Yucaipa Police have received numerous reports of packages stolen off of from porches. This incident was captured on video surveillance, that helped lead to suspect, Tiffany Ann Hauck’s arrest authorities said. Hauck could be seen walking up to and knocking on the victim’s front door, when no one answered she picked up the large package and left the home. The approximate value of the package containing Cutco Kitchen Knives was $2300.
Detectives collected evidence, including the surveillance but were unable to identify the suspect. Leads into the case led detectives to believe that the suspect may have recently been seen in Yucaipa. Video surveillance was released and on Friday, March 31, 2017, minutes following the airing of the surveillance, numerous tips were called in. Some of the calls included the suspects identity and her location.
It was determined that Hauck did match the physical features of the suspect in the video and she was transported to the station for an interview. Following the interview, Hauck was booked into the Central Detention Center for Grand Theft and Burglary. Hauck is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. Yucaipa Police believe that Hauck may have been involved in other area thefts.
